St Takeri Tekakwitha
she hold wood cross in hands
sweet to her soul
like prayer, sacrifice, austerity
live time difficult,
her tribe family
hurt and land destroyed
her dress native american but her inside
christ united
fringe on shawl move with wind
as her hands work fields
no complaining ever
even when illness take over
her head has a time table like me
not going away from my lord no matter
what
i am his forever like sun loves moon
like stars twinkle in deep dark rich sky
i kiss his feet i lay my young hand in his
dying unto him this way i live my life
for he is the air i breathe
he is the ray of golden light
it fall on my breast
divine to my senses and feelings
i will not lay my hand to rest on any other
for son of Mary give all to me and i to him
put to rest my fears and worries of anything
in my land there is hurt and pain that i lived with
so many against another
and too i live christian in my heart
so my people not trust this about me
i was scorned badly by them
yet i suffered not at their words for nothing can
break apart my bond with christ
that give all comfort to me
when i pass
my scars on face smoothed to ivory beauty
like one untouched
i came and said goodbye to some
i am going to heaven my dear friend
see how my eyes look to heaven with ecstatic bliss
filled with tenderness for my god
he waits for me
did i come in clothes of native american
or in clothes of heaven?
please tell to me
for i am never the way it appears to any
but with full light in my soul
young i am today too filled with happiness, joy
with christ always
he take me to live with him eternally
i no longer ailing with weakness or scars
or need to explain or need permission to love
my christ
i just love
and love
and love
like river flows behind me in picture
like sun around my crown
like wood cross i carry always
it glows of life eternal
amen
amen
amen
